
Dr. Karla Kane received a Doctorate in Physical Therapy from the University of Southern California. She has also pursued comprehensive Pilates instructor training at Polestar Pilates, which focuses on infusing traditional Pilates with biomechanical and anatomical knowledge of physical therapy.
Karla is also a certified strength and conditioning specialist through the National Strength and Conditioning Association as well as a performance enhancement specialist from the National Academy of Sports Medicine.
For more than 8 years, she has been a yoga instructor and obtained a functional yoga systems certification from the Gray’s Institute. With an applied functional science approach to yoga, Karla effectively addresses repetitive and overuse injuries by modifying traditional yoga sequences to enhance dynamic stability and functionality. She completed her clinical rotations at several sports-performance and orthopedic clinics, where she refined advanced manual joint mobilization techniques.
Karla uses a holistic lens to evaluate a client’s movement and design creative exercise programs using Pilates and yoga exercises to rehabilitate musculoskeletal conditions. She has extensive experience working with athletes at all levels, from high-school to professional. She received her Bachelor of Business Administration degree from the Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan. She also competed as a gymnast and played high-school varsity tennis. Today, Karla is actively involved in South Florida’s Latin and salsa dancing community.
